CREOCEAN explores the deep sea off the West African coast
The 230ft Goldblatt Tide, chartered and equipped by Creocean to explore the deep ocean, has just left Luanda (Angola) with an international team of oceanographers piloted by Creocean.
After being equipped in Abidjan with winches and adapted sampling equipment (16 tons of material) it is now about to take samples off Angola and will then continue its investigations in Senegal and Mauritania. It is expected at the end of October in Abidjan for the demobilization of the equipment.
The aim of these campaigns is to characterize the environmental quality of these deep seabeds (between 500 and 4000 m) by measuring elements of water quality and sediment but also by carrying out biological observations in areas that have never been explored before.
